Ag Ambassador
Are you a junior in high school and interested in being an Ag Ambassador? Here's how it works; once chosen by the board of directors to represent agriculture in Ellis County through advocacy, service, and education. An Ag Ambassador must be and remain a student in good standing at their high school and in the community at large. Students must participate in board activities to meet requirements.
Deadline is April 1.
What does an AG Ambassador do?
Service
Organize food drives: Collect produce to donate to food banks or shelters, ensuring food banks have support. Provide the community with a behind-the-scenes look at where their food comes from and the work that goes into it.
Educate
Share information about different agricultural practices, local farms, and the importance of agriculture in our daily lives. This could involve interactive displays, demonstrations, or handing out informative pamphlets.
Attend
The Ag Ambassador has opportunities to network, learn from their experiences, and build valuable relationships. Board meetings discuss current issues facing the agricultural industry. This exposure equips the Ag Ambassador with a deeper understanding of the big picture.
Learn
Engaging with audiences of all ages requires clear communication, effective presentation techniques, and the ability to tailor information to different levels of understanding. Ag Ambassadors often work together to organize events, manage booths, or plan educational programs.
Congratulations 2025-26 Ag Ambassadors
Congratulations to Keeli Kimzey and Maci Vanek for their efforts this year as the Ellis County Farm Bureau Agriculture Ambassadors. These young ladies were chosen by the Board of Directors to represent Agriculture in Ellis County through Advocacy, Service, and Education. They presented at the 4th Grade Kids Ag Day, gave Entomology lessons throughout the year to elementary schools in Ellis County, and lined up a tour to the Capitol where they visited with Ken Rahjes and Barbara Wasinger. They were awarded a $1000 scholarship for their hard work!
