Beef Certificate Program 2024

Fuel your students' learning with the power of beef! The Kansas Beef Certificate Program (BCP) offers a wealth of resources funded by Kansas beef farmers and ranchers. This program provides financial assistance specifically for Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) and ProStart teachers who want to integrate exciting beef-based lessons into their cooking and culinary curriculum. BCP offers science-based resources and lesson guides that cover everything from beef selection and storage to preparation, nutrition, and production. Through these engaging lessons, students will discover the versatility and nutritional value of beef as a key protein source for all dietary needs. The best part? All BCP resources are designed to be easily adapted for both in-person and virtual classrooms, making them accessible to all teachers and students. Last year alone, over 22,000 Kansas students from more than 130 middle and high schools across 48 counties (including Sedgwick and Johnson) benefited from BCP!

While BCP caters to FCS and ProStart educators, the Kansas Beef Council also offers resources for STEM teachers on the fascinating topics of beef production and sustainability.

Kansas Beef Council Extends “Sports Nutrition Game Plan" to High Schools

Kansas Beef Council (KBC) teams up with coaches to empower athletes with science-based nutrition.

High school athletes in Kansas are getting a powerful boost thanks to a collaborative effort between the KBC and the Beef Checkoff-funded Sports Nutrition Game Plan. This program, developed by the Texas Beef Council, provides athletes, coaches, trainers, and parents with the knowledge they need to fuel performance and healthy growth.

Why Beef? A Powerhouse for Young Athletes

The Sports Nutrition Game Plan emphasizes the importance of proper nutrition for student-athletes throughout their day. It highlights how lean beef cuts perfectly fit into their diets, offering a wealth of high-quality nutrients.

Engaging Learning Across Platforms

The program uses a variety of engaging tools to educate athletes. These include informative videos, handouts, social media graphics, and interactive team challenges - all grounded in science-based principles.
